A look back: January
Blimey, January flew by didn’t it? A whirlwind of weather, outdoor fun, getting back into the school and work routine and trying out some new skills. I normally struggle in January but this year it was great to have a longer period after New Year before the boys went back to school. It felt like a proper break and for once, we weren’t running to catch up with ourselves by the time they did go back.
January started with beautiful blue skies and we bumped into our Prime Minister. We visited the beautiful Batsford and Blenheim and had great fun in the snow, sledging on the best slopes round our way. I learned how to crochet (well, sort of…). Louis got his beavers Bronze Award, Xav got a reading award at school. I photographed some great people. We booked a (child-free) trip to Rome in March to celebrate our tenth anniversary. The month ended with me elbow-deep in icing sugar making Louis’ 8th birthday cake (but more on that next week) and seeing tiny signs of spring with little clusters of crocuses on the school run.
So come on February, beat that…
