A productive weekend
The weather gods were kind this weekend (perhaps easing us all in gently to the trauma of going back to school next week) so I managed to get most of my gardening chores ticked off, mowing lawns, weeding borders, cutting hedges and emptying scraggy pots.
I really love hydrangeas so was very pleased to bring some late summer blooms indoors this afternoon - they’re bonkers plants, changing colour depending on the acidity of the soil they’re in. These ones seem to be in two minds, taking on a purplish hue rather than the normal blue or pink, but they go very nicely in my blue spotted jug so I’m not complaining!
I suppose I should start sewing some name tags into the boys’ new school trousers, but to be honest, a vanilla vodka is looking way more appealing right now. Perhaps I could just staple them in come Wednesday morning…?
