Fridays are notionally my day off. Sometimes I have to work but more often than not, I spend my Fridays re-stocking the kitchen cupboards, tidying up the house, pottering in the garden and every so often, rummaging in places like this for special treasures and little lovelies.
Today I had a great rummage and had to seriously restrain myself from purchasing a beautiful vintage pigeon hole shelving unit. I had my finger on the speed dial to call my husband to come pick it up, but with a whopping £200 price tag, it definitely wasn’t an ‘on a whim’ purchase.
Instead, I came away with this lovely fabric and ribbon, plus this cute Christmas tree ric-rac. I’m thinking I might turn them into tree decorations and maybe some home-made presents (depending on my sewing machine skills).
I also found these lovely blue stripe bowls. Most of our china is white but I am having great fun adding a few Cornish blues in every now and again. These are definite contenders for one of the things in my 52 weeks of happy next week.
So here’s to a crafty weekend. I have bought the Christmas cake ingredients, the blackberry vodka and limoncello Kilner jars are ready to be filled with sweet home made nectar and beef bourginon is on the menu.
Now let’s see how many of those actually get done shall we…. :)
