This weekend was long-anticipated in our household, by children and grown-ups alike as we finally got to see the wonderous, marvellous, spell-binding majesty that is Giffords Circus.
And if you think that is too many adjectives, then go see it yourselves - I guarantee you’ll be searching for more superlatives to describe what an utterly brilliant feast for the senses this show is.
In case you’re not familiar with this beautiful spectacle, Giffords Circus is a traditional, small circus that tours the village greens and pub gardens of the Cotswolds during the summer months each year. Toti and Nell Gifford, who started the circus in 2000 describe it as “a miniature village green circus, packed, rowdy, glamorous - birds and horses and motorbikes bursting from a fluttering white tent” and it was honestly the most incredibly perfect show I have ever seen in my life.
I even cried when it ended, it was so wonderful!
I’ve put a full set of photographs on my website, but here are a selection to whet your appetites:
