The simpler things in life
A much-anticipated new magazine finally popped through my letterbox this week and I have coveted it lovingly, tweeted it and enthused to anyone who will listen about it ever since.
The Simple Things is a beautiful monthly work of art dedicated to (and I quote) “slowing down, enjoying what you have, making the most of where you live, enjoying the company of friends and family and making simple food for simple gatherings.”
Issue 01 contains a gorgeous eclectic mix of articles about the simple stuff in life - there are city reviews, foodie spreads, sneak peeks inside beautiful homes, articles on allotments, apple preserving, a monthly miscellany and so much more. It is full of atmospheric photography, beautiful illustrations, clean typefaces and refeshingly few adverts.
It has a wonderful ‘secret club’ feel about it - I felt like a complete colluder turning over one page to see an article on antique radios by Carl Glover, a photographer I know slightly as he worked with my husband and his band many moons ago.
If you haven’t seen it already - it’s in shops from today I believe - go seek it out. Then grab a cup of tea, a comfy chair and indulge. You won’t be disappointed I promise.
