Last weekend marked the halfway point in this grand project.
Six months of weekly portraits of the boys. Six months of memories, happy faces, sad faces, snatched portraits and posed shots.
Playing along with Jodi, in this post I have picked out my three favourite shots so far for each boy.
Xavi - top to bottom: week 13/52, week 7/52 and week 26/52.
I’ve chosen these shots because they sum this little boy up. Sensitive and thoughtful, yet at the same time full of mischief and in possession of a smile wide enough to make your heart sing. In the last six months he’s gone from a ‘little’ boy to a 'young’ boy. The difference is subtle but it’s there.
He’s a talker, a thinker, a doer and a cuddler and I love him beyond measure.
Louis - top to bottom: week 14/42, week 13/52 and week 19/52.
Similarly, I wanted to choose three portraits of Louis that illustrate a little of his character. The top shot makes my heart hurt when I see it as it reminds me of how sad he was when I took it. But the second shows the other side of him, the fun side that’s just as intense as his more solemn side. And the third shot is all about courage and determination. Which he has in spades. He continually amazes and inspires me at how he faces up to new challenges.
He’s a thinker, a creator, a poet and a dreamer and I love him too beyond measure.
